Job Summary: We are seeking a Human Resources Coordinator / Generalist to join our team. This role is perfect for someone early in their career looking to gain valuable experience or for a seasoned professional seeking a meaningful full-time role in a vibrant, creative environment. The HR Coordinator will handle day-to-day human resources functions, including recruitment, employee relations, benefits, and compliance with HR policies.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with the recruitment and onboarding of new employees and actors, including job/audition postings, interviews, background checks, and orientations. Diversity and inclusion are paramount.
- Maintain employee records, ensuring they are accurate and up-to-date.
- Facilitate company payroll processes.
- Support employee relations by addressing inquiries and helping resolve workplace issues.
- Assist managers with scheduling and execution of performance reviews.
- Assist with payroll processing and benefits administration.
- Work to create and maintain a positive workplace culture
- Assist with employee recognition
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
- Support the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
- Organize employee training sessions, workshops, and other HR-related events.
- Provide administrative support to the management team as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field (preferred but not required).
- Previous experience in an HR role.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills – verbal and written.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail.
- Analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Passion for the arts and a desire to contribute to a nonprofit environment.
