What are the responsibilities and job description for the Boating Instructor position at Hale Day Camp?
Boating Instructor Responsibilities:
o Facilitate boating instruction and activities for diverse populations of ages 3 – 12 with varying levels of experience.
o Perform general lifeguarding duties and ensure safety of participants during boating programs by preventing and responding to emergencies
o Assist in upkeep of all boating equipment
o Participate in in-service trainings throughout the summer
o Complete additional duties assigned by supervisor
o Serve as a flexible, dependable, friendly, and cooperative member of the team
o Maintain professional appearance and attire provided by Hale
Essential Functions:
o Observe, listen to, evaluate and act upon safety concerns related to program
o Appropriately address patron issues in person and on the phone
o Participate in facility upkeep and maintenance at program areas
o Complete all required records and reports in a timely manner

o Shows initiative both as a team and independently.

Qualifications:
o Minimum age: 16
o Required certification: Lifeguard, CPR, First Aid, AED
o is available from May 24 to August 31, 2025
o All time off must be approved by program director. (Please note that school takes priority and that while waterfronts are open from these dates, it is not required that you are available every day within this range.)
o Attend all required trainings before start of program
Job Types: Part-time, Contract, Seasonal
Pay: $17.15 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
