Mevert Automotive Shop/Technician Assistant
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Support the technicians in any way that will increase their productivity and efficiency
- Support the service advisor and front office in any way that they request
- Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of shop and perform any shop maintenance
- Maintain Company standards for ethical business practices, professional image, orderliness, customer service, and good employee and community relations.
- General Qualifications:
- Possess mechanical and electrical aptitude, complete and pass skill assessment test.
- Capable of achieving and maintaining ASE certification- minimum maintenance
- Ability to work as a team with co-workers and management
- Bondable
- Able to speak, read and write the English language legibly
- Possess good verbal and written communication skills
- Able to read and comprehend service information and perform tasks based on that information. (example: resetting oil life monitors and maintenance reminders)
- Possess a valid state driver’s license (issued from state where employed)- notify employer immediately if driver’s license status changes.
- Possess or willing to purchase necessary tools to perform required tasks (basic set)
- Able to lift 60 pounds
- Able to work long hours/ be dependable
Specific Responsibilities:
- Attend and participate in meetings as required by management. Attend and participate in training classes as required by management. Report problem areas to management.
- Perform Oil Change and lube services to vehicles as well as other general maintenance (tire repairs, tire replacement and rotations). Perform vehicle maintenance inspections.
- Maintain a clean facility by cleaning fluid spills immediately, placing trash in proper receptacle, emptying trash receptacles and returning cores to parts room (communicate w/techs on core returns or warranty return parts and mark parts accordingly)
- Road test vehicles for technicians as directed either for diagnostic purposes or final verification
- Take all possible precautions to insure the safety and health of you and others
- Perform all maintenance and repair with speed and thoroughness. Report tools, equipment and facilities in need of repair
- Maintain cleanliness of all vehicles assigned to repair- wipe interior door panel, wash exterior of vehicle in area work was performed and install clean floor mat. Provide final quality check for cleanliness of ALL vehicles parked in the completed area. (includes vehicles serviced by another tech)
- Perform work assignments in accordance with time schedules as assigned by the Service Advisor

Pay: $35,000.00 - $45,000.00 per year
