What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laborer for Underground (Wet) Utilities position at Haley Contracting (Non-Union)?
Seeking an Underground Utility Laborer who enjoys steady work with possible overtime pay as required. These candidates are self-motivated and dedicated to supporting a team environment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Hand dig and back fill trenches
- Pipe handling, Storm Drain, Sewer, Domestic Water, Fire lines.
- Carry and load materials to be used on the job
- Operate hand tools and/or compaction equipment
- Provide ground support for backhoe and excavator operators
- Know how to operate and set self-leveling laser in order to set grade
- Ability to read and comprehend construction plans
- Light repair and maintenance of tools and equipment
- Wash and clean equipment and vehicles
- Drive pick-up (1/2t , 3/4t, 1t vehicles) to and from job site
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred Skills
- Previous experience in underground pipe installation, depths greater that 2'
- Class A CDL is a plus (Higher wage offered to CDL holders)
- OSHA 10 Certificate
Background and/or drug screening may be required.
