About the Role
We are seeking a skilled Academic Advising Coach to join our team at Halifax Community College. As an Academic Advising Coach, you will play a critical role in supporting the academic success of our students.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide individualized support to students in achieving their academic goals
- Collaborate with faculty and staff to develop and implement effective advising strategies
- Conduct needs assessments and create personalized graduation plans for students
- Facilitate financial aid, scholarship, and college application workshops
- Develop and maintain accurate and up-to-date student records
- Prepare bi-monthly reports on individual and combined caseload performance
- Establish and maintain cradle-to-grave retention and reclamation programs
- Implement new strategies and tools to enhance student engagement and success
Requirements
- Associate's degree in Education, Human Services, or a related field required
- At least 2 years of experience in academic advising, counseling, or student support services
- Experience working with high-risk student populations preferred
