Description
The primary purpose of this position is to oversee the Nurse Aide/Therapeutic and Diagnostic program, delivering instruction in both classroom and clinical settings while supporting student success. The Program Coordinator supervises and coordinates all nurse aide activities, both curricular and non-curricular, at the college, clinical, and satellite locations. This individual manages the internal operations of the Nurse Aide program, collaborating closely with the Dean of Academic Affairs and the Program Director of Nursing on faculty recruitment, hiring processes, budget management, and faculty development within the department. Additional responsibilities include ensuring program approval, student recruitment, requisitions, schedule management, textbook orders, and fostering overall student success in the department.

Responsible for maintaining certification and full approval through DHHS at each site by preparing all paperwork and keeping all rooms stocked with essential supplies and all equipment in working order. Being ready for state inspections of rooms and student files.
Responsible for up to date information on all skills, policies and procedures. Properly enforcing policies and procedures.
Responsible for all instructors and their teaching methods and making supervisory visits to each class to observe such methods. Correcting and commending as needed.
Responsible for teaching and providing remediation to students in order for them to pass state exam and become employed in the healthcare field.

Required: Program Coordinator - Registered Nurse with an unencumbered license- licensed to practice in NC.
At least 2 years ( 4000 hours ) experience as a Registered Nurse
At least 1 year ( 2000 hours ) of RN experience in long term care in the USA
Required : CNA Instructor – Registered Nurse with an unencumbered –licensed to practice in NC
At least 2 years ( 4000 hours ) experience as a Registered Nurse

- Maintain program certification through DHHS at each site
- Complete all documentation and reports required by HCC, DHHS, NCBON, Credentia and/or other required agencies in a timely manner by due dates
- Stay abreast of developments in the field of instruction and Nurse Aide Program requirements by participating in training and other opportunism for continued professional development, including attendance at off campus activities
- Incorporate all required changes in policies and procedures into the curriculum being used in the classroom to keep us in compliance with all state regulations and inform instructors of those changes and train accordingly.
- Stock all rooms used by the program with essential supplies and all equipment in working order
- Prepare and facilitate state inspections of rooms and student files
- Implement and enforce college academic policies and procedures together with administrative rules and regulations and other controls intended to maintain order and highest standards of instruction
- Participate in student eligibility evaluation, as assigned; assist in the recruitment of students and placement of graduates
- Faculty recruitment and facilitate hiring processes
- Budget management
- Encourage faculty development for the Nurse Aide instructors
- Class schedule management
- Textbook selection and order management
- Mentor and guide other faculty and part-time adjunct faculty in the Nurse Aide department program
- Maintain office and on-campus hours sufficient to fulfill all contracted duties for department, division and college
- Maintain complete office, student, and instructor records as needed; processing reports, forms and all other requested paperwork in a timely, efficient manner, checking for the accuracy and completeness of all data
- Monitor and oversee student success for the Nurse Aide program
- Teach four classes per semester, unless altered and approved by the Associate Dean/Chair of Arts & Sciences and Professional Studies
