Reporting to the Director of Workforce Development and Continuing Education, the Coordinator interfaces with external clients and partners, students, instructors, and other College departments to ensure that classes are scheduled and staffed, instructional offerings are of the highest standard, books, and supplies are ordered, and the office is run professionally. The position supports the School’s workforce development efforts by creating and managing training programs and other related continuing education programs based on clients’ and partners’ business needs.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES
Prepare, recommend, and submit to the Director of Workforce and Development and Continuing Education the budgets for areas of direct oversight and remain informed on sources of income, especially federal and state aid, to support them; monitor budgets versus actual revenue and expenses; develop and implement contingency plans as needed.Develop, implement, manage, and evaluate non-credit educational services and programs to meet the workforce and economic needs of the community and business and industry sectors; develop instructional, operations, and fiscal reports to comply with college and regulatory/funding agency requirements and prepare an annual report on division operations, including an annual statistical report.Plan, develop, and implement innovative partnerships with business and industry in the community to foster a supportive workforce and economic development environment, including contract and community education; manage and coordinate the development of educational services to support local economic development initiatives by collaborating with area economic development agencies to develop business recruitment and expansion strategies that further the interest of the College and the service area. Program development may include both credit and non-credit.Develops, implements, and plans for corporate learning workforce training; plans local, statewide, and regional conferences, seminars, and special events relative to workforce, professional, and economic development and the global economy. Ability to work a flexible schedule, where needed to ensure appropriate coverage of Continuing Education and Workforce Development.Collaborates with leadership, administration, and faculty on the academic side of the college to develop joint ventures in the development of new workforce programs to enhance workforce development; directs the divisions' marketing activities to create awareness of utilization of credit and noncredit educational services; serves as a liaison between the division and other divisions and areas of instruction and administration; incumbent must be able to work collegially with internal and external constituents of the college; works collaboratively to support SACSCOC accreditation and continuous quality improvements initiatives at the college.Serves on various college, local, and state workforce, continuing education, and economic advisory councils.Working with the Director of Workforce and Development and Continuing Education to present program proposals and grant applications and negotiate contractual documents for educational services and joint ventures with public and private agencies; negotiate contracts, Memorandum of Understandings, and agreements with college clients to develop and implement program initiatives and partnerships; facilitate the processing of grant applications with federal, state, and local funding agencies.Provide professional leadership and supervision in recruiting, developing, and appraising staff members within the area of delegated responsibility; must annually engage in professional development activities that may include conferences, seminars, projects, research, completing college courses, or other activities.Other Duties as assigned by the Director, Vice-President or President of the College.
