Overview
Halifax Health is seeking a Training Coordinator for the training and development functions of our IT Department by providing administrative support.
The Training Coordinator will help facilitate Information Technology (IT) Department training needs related to Epic and may perform training for IT Clinical Application employees.
The successful candidate should be experienced in handling a wide range of administrative and office support related tasks, with ability to prioritize and work independently in a fast-paced environment. This role involves a wide range of administrative tasks, including managing schedules, facilitating communications, and ensuring the efficient operation of the office. Strong organizational and decision- making skills, along with high level of professionalism and confidentiality are essential to this role. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and attention to detail are required.
Responsibilities
- Anticipate needs and assist with management of schedules.
- Assist with preparation for meetings, conferences, etc.
- Prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Act as liaison with all levels of the organization including executive leadership
- Answer and manage incoming phones promptly and efficiently
- Greet and assist visitors to the IT building, directing them as needed.
- Schedule meetings, conference calls, various functions
- Coordinate travel plans
- Manage corporate files, records, reports, correspondence, etc.
- Review and prioritize/handle incoming and outgoing correspondence
- Maintain and update electronic contact information
- Help develop and facilitate IT Department training from identification of need through implementation.
- Help create and implement training material. Maintain a hardcopy of all training material.
- Develop training schedules, taking into consideration department staffing needs.
- Ensure training programs meet objectives and maximize department efficiency.
- Create and implement spreadsheets for employee training needs and achievements, including Hospital annual mandatory education.
- Research and recommend other training or seminars that will help promote a healthy work environment.
- Other reasonable job functions and special projects as needed or requested
- Prepares Request for Cash Disbursement, Purchase Orders, Special Function Request, etc.
Experience
*
- Minimum of one year experience as an Application Analyst or equivalent in a healthcare setting, preferably in a hospital.
- Possess a working knowledge of IT department operations.
- Proficient PC skills and knowledge.
- Excellent organizational skills and have knowledge of adult learning principles.
- Demonstrated articulate oral and written communications skills, with the ability to present a topic to an audience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- Must be able to work Monday through Friday during regular business hours or as business necessitates.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; Associate’s preferred.
