Hall & Evans, LLC, one of Denver’s most established defense law firms has a full-time opening for a Legal Support Assistant in our Downtown Denver offices. This role provides administrative and clerical support to the Legal Assistants. This is an entry-level position designed to teach and develop the necessary knowledge and skills to become a full-time Legal Assistant. This position will have both assigned and over-flow Legal Secretary task responsibilities.
Requirements
Court Notification Management;
Download documents into iManage system and name them as directed;
Distribute (e-mail) documents to attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants on the matter or as directed;
Electronic document downloads and organization as needed;
Rename and organize files in iManage as directed;
Transcription of tapes or digital format;
Type dictation from attorneys, recordings, or other verbal recordings as needed;
Proofread transcription, highlight areas that require clarification for reader ease and efficiency;
Mail, fax, or arrange for deliveries;
Assist with correspondence preparation and appropriate delivery type - Regular US mail, certified mail, overnight mail (FedEx), hand delivery service, fax documents;
Make photocopies of correspondence, documents, and other printed matter as needed;
Prepare, gather, copy, scan, and organize documents for notebooks;
Preparation of trial notebooks with exhibit tabs;
Draft and type basic documents as directed such as Captions and Case Information Sheets, Shells for discovery, and Shells for Pleadings;
Open and Close files in LSS accounting system - Preparation of Case information and other initial documents when opening a new matter and preparation of Closed File form and Final Bill Resolution form, and;
Accounting tasks - Enter vendor invoices into the ChromeRiver software program for payment and send Hall & Evans LLC invoices to clients for payment as directed.
Job Qualifications
Education and/or Experience - High school diploma or general education degree (GED); some college is beneficial. Minimum one year of administrative or secretarial experience, preferably in a professional services environment;
Technology Skills - Proficient in Windows computer environment, Microsoft Office products, and other common office technology and equipment including imaging and scanning applications. Ability to learn new software programs and embraces technological changes as part of the work environment;
Physical Requirements - Must be able to work effectively using computers and can see details at close range on monitors. Must be able to lift a minimum of 25 lbs., and;
Work Hours - Usual work hours are Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (one-hour lunch). Overtime work may be required from time to time.
The hiring range for this position is $38,100 - $41,000 annually.
The acceptance of applications for this position will continue until March 31, 2025.
