Overview
The Seasonal Golf Shop Assistant will coordinate with the Professional Staff to provide members with exceptional golf-related services and retail support. This position will focus on offering golf-specific services, such as retail sales (both soft and hard goods), quality merchandise receiving and organization, event enrollment, and delivering friendly, customer-oriented service that complements the needs and lifestyles of our members.
Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional service to members and guests by anticipating their needs and assisting with golf-related purchases.
- Assist in the enrollment process for tournaments, events, lessons, and clinics.
- Register members and guests for daily play and assist with phone inquiries.
- Handle daily operations, including maintaining a clean and organized golf shop.
- Assist with inventory management, including monthly counts, receiving shipments, and restocking merchandise.
- Support the sale of apparel, equipment, soft and hard goods, and special orders.
- Coordinate with the Buyer/Merchandiser to ensure the timely and organized display of products, maintaining visual merchandising standards.
- Provide knowledge on retail products and guide members in selecting merchandise that suits their tastes and needs.
- Assist in maintaining a well-organized, visually appealing retail environment.
- Promote member satisfaction through friendly and knowledgeable service.
- Follow instructions from the Head Golf Professional and Buyer/Merchandiser on operational tasks and responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned to ensure the smooth operation of the golf shop and an excellent member experience.
- Passion for golf and desire to develop a career in golf operations and/or retail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a friendly, positive attitude.
- Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in retail, customer service, or golf-related roles is a plus but not required.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Predictable and reliable attendance is required.
- Ability to stand, bend, stoop, twist and turn for prolonged periods of time.
- Ability to lift 25 pounds.
- The position will require working inside and outside various times of the year and may require prolonged exposure to sunlight
Salary : $16 - $18
