Job Duties and Qualifications
- Under broad direction, manages US indirect taxes to include sales & use tax, unclaimed property and severance tax on a multi-state basis across multiple legal entities
- Responsible for audit defense / controversy strategies, including audit design, technical research, audit workpaper review and audit appeals
- Directly manage sales / use tax compliance team
- Responsible for tax technical research / analysis to support tax positions taken
- Special Projects
- M&A transaction support
- Systems experience including SAP / Vertex preferred
- CCH / RIA or similar research tool experience required
- Responsible for mentoring, career development and coaching of personnel
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving ability, verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in larger SALT team environment
- Requires an undergraduate degree in accounting or related field and 7 years of US indirect tax experience
- Applicable professional certification preferred
- Candidates having qualifications that exceed the minimum job requirement will receive consideration for higher-level roles given (1) their experience, (2) additional job requirements, and / or (3) business needs. Depending on education, experience, and skill level, a variety of job opportunities might be available from the Tax Manager up to the Senior Tax Manager
