WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE
We are looking for an HR Generalist to support our Technology, Finance, and Legal departments, ensuring alignment with business goals and fostering a culture of collaboration and excellence. In this role, you’ll be a true partner to the business, focused on executing strategies at the ground level, and serve as the primary contact for employees and line managers for assigned client groups. You’ll handle all day-to-day HR operations and tactical execution including staffing & recruitment support, employee relations, onboarding, manager coaching and addressing immediate concerns of managers and employees. You’ll also ensure compliance with HR policies and provide localized HR support for the Information Technology, Finance and Legal teams. This is a progressive role that prepares individuals for advanced roles, such as an HR Business Partner, by expanding responsibilities and strategic involvement.
In this position, you will:
- Act as a trusted resource for employees and managers, providing guidance on HR policies, attendance & leaves management, conflict resolution, and other employee relations issues.
- Respond to basic employee inquiries about HR policies, benefits, and procedures.
- Assist with coordination of employee benefits programs, including open enrollment and benefits inquiries.
- Partner with department leaders to understand their talent needs and implement effective HR solutions in partnership with the Talent Acquisition team.
- Assist with compliance activities, including maintaining accurate employee files and ensuring proper documentation.
- Contribute to employee programs, events and activities intended to drive strong engagement and promote a positive workplace culture.
- Coordinate employee training and development initiatives.
- Assist supervisors and people leaders with day-to-day HR operations, including attendance management, employee records maintenance, and payroll support.
- Monitor compliance with employment laws and company policies, recommending updates as needed.
- Analyze HR metrics and trends to support data-driven decision-making.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
The following is required to be considered for this role:
- Bachelor’s degree or 4 years of professional work experience
- At least 1 year of experience in human resources or a supervisory role
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Your resume application will stand out if you have:
- At least 5 years of work experience, 2 of which were supporting Information Technology in a corporate environment
- Experience supporting employment sponsorship, including visa processing and compliance requirements
- Prior experience in employee relations, recruitment or other HR generalist capacity
- Demonstrated ability to be highly collaborative; strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to act with diplomacy and tact
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Confidence in decision making
- Curiosity for learning with problem-solving capabilities
- Ability to use data to inform decisions

- This is a hybrid role, with the opportunity to work both on-site at Hallmark's Headquarters and virtually from your residence in the Kansas City, MO metropolitan area.
