Position: Solar Project Manager

Overview:
Halo Land Management is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Solar Project Manager to lead and oversee solar development projects from initiation to completion. This role involves easement acquisition, land research, project coordination, and compliance management. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in solar energy projects, land management, and cross-functional team collaboration, ensuring projects meet regulatory standards and timelines.
Key Responsibilities:Project Management & Coordination:
- Lead and oversee solar project lifecycles, including planning, scheduling, budgeting, and execution.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure timely project delivery.
- Identify potential risks, develop mitigation strategies, and maintain compliance with legal and environmental regulations.
Easement Acquisition & Land Research:
- Identify, negotiate, and secure easements for solar projects while ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
- Conduct in-depth land research, analyzing ownership records, environmental impact assessments, and zoning regulations.
Regulatory Compliance & Documentation:
- Ensure full compliance with local, state, and federal regulations related to land use, easements, and solar project development.
- Prepare and maintain detailed project documentation, including permits, contracts, reports, and easement agreements.
Administrative & Cross-Functional Support:
- Develop and manage project line lists, track deadlines, and maintain accurate records.
- Work closely with internal teams, engineers, legal experts, and government agencies to facilitate smooth project execution.
- Support due diligence efforts related to land acquisition, permitting, and regulatory approvals.
Qualifications & Skills:Required:
- 3-5 years of experience in project management, land management, or a related field, preferably within the solar energy sector.
- Strong knowledge of easements, land acquisition processes, and legal documentation.
- Project management expertise with the ability to manage multiple projects, deadlines, and cross-functional teams.
- Excellent research, analytical, and administrative skills.
- Effective communication and negotiation abilities for working with landowners, stakeholders, and regulatory bodies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and project management tools.
- Must be a certified Michigan Notary.
Preferred:
- Prior experience with solar energy projects and understanding of electrical distribution systems.
- Familiarity with state and local regulations governing land use, zoning, and permitting for renewable energy projects.
- Demonstrated ability to adapt to evolving priorities and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
