What are the responsibilities and job description for the Tool Die Maker position at Halpin Staffing Services?
Journeyman level
Responsibilities include: Verify dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, or dial indicators. Study blueprints, sketches, models, or specifications to plan sequences of operations for fabricating tools, dies, or assemblies. Set up and operate manual and CNC machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, grinders (Blanchard – Surface). Fit and assemble parts to make, repair, or modify dies, jigs, gauges, and tools. Design jigs, fixtures, and templates for use as work aids in the fabrication of parts or products.
Qualifications: Seeking candidates with a minimum of 5 years previous experience as a Tool & Die Maker, Toolroom attendant. Knowledge of machines and tools, including designs, uses, repair, and maintenance .The position requires excellent math skills and the ability to read, interpret, and follow a variety of blueprints, schematics, and work instructions. Ability to work 10 hours in a physically active and challenging environment that includes but is not limited to; walking, standing, lifting, twisting, turning, crouching, kneeling, pushing, pulling. High School Diploma or equivalent required and Tool & Die Maker schooling Die Building/Maintenance, Tool & Die Maker/machinist and/or state indentured journeyman’s card.
