Job Description:
The Law Enforcement Property and Evidence Specialist will be responsible for processing and maintaining law enforcement property and evidence in the Haltom City Police Department. This includes receiving, processing, storing, maintaining, and retrieving property and evidence obtained by law enforcement personnel.
The selected candidate will assist officers on scenes by responding to crime scenes, collecting evidence and samples of biological material for laboratory submission, and completing crime scene photography. Additionally, the candidate will assist officers by picking up and delivering evidence and property to courts, laboratories, and other outside agencies.
The Property and Evidence Specialist will also research and assist in resolving property and/or evidence related matters as required. This may include preparing and filing property destruction orders with the District Attorney's Office and pulling and destroying property upon Judge's authorization.
This is a unique opportunity to work in a Police Department and have access to confidential information and property. The selected candidate will need to be willing to have their background examined closely.
- Typical Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Two years' experience processing and maintaining law enforcement property and evidence; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Must have a valid Texas Driver's License
