History Associates Inc. (HAI) is actively recruiting for a qualified individual with experience in book, serial, and rare books cataloging, along with experience with updating records in software such as Axiell and Alma.
The Cataloger will be based at the National Geographic Society’s headquarters in Washington, D.C., easily accessible via public transportation, as part of a project team. You will work alongside an onsite archivist and a remote project manager.
NGS is in the process of moving, so while the cataloger is expected to be primarily working with the NGS library and software, they might also be asked to perform other tasks related to the move, such as inventorying other assets or working with audiovisual materials.
This position is full-time temporary, 40 hours per week, with work beginning January 2025 and lasting approximately six months.
Responsibilities
- Perform copy cataloging, original cataloging, or updating to existing records, as appropriate and defined by the client.
- Participate in other project-related tasks and meetings with project manager and team.
