The Elections Administrator
- Plans and coordinates department policies, procedures and activities necessary to conduct all primary, general, and special elections held in Hamilton County
- Assists with development and implementation of board policies and procedures
- Establishes and maintains department quality control standards
- Coordinates the recruiting, interviewing, and selection of temporary department employees with approval of the Director/Deputy Director
- Supervises and instructs department personnel; assign work, coordinate activities, schedules, and reviews employee work and performance
- Advises Director/Deputy Director and Board Members, as necessary, regarding department activities and developments
- Receives, has custody of, and preserves papers and property belonging to the board
- Reviews all department related Directives, Advisories, Memoranda, correspondence and materials issued by the Secretary of State and take action as required by those communications
- Responds to public records requests
- Performs other duties as assigned
- Logistics and distribution of election supplies
- In-house print production and mass mailing
- Precinct Election Official hiring, training, and management
- Polling location coordination and compliance with the Americans with Disabilities Act.
- Education: High School Diploma or equivalent. College level education is desired
- Election related experience and skills: Must have a baseline understanding of the rules, processes, procedures, and equipment used in local election administration
- Effective written and interpersonal communication abilities
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to conduct self at all times in a professional and courteous manner
- Successful completion of a criminal background check
- Be a registered and active voter in the State of Ohio
- Ability to work extended hours
