What are the responsibilities and job description for the Auditor #1023 - Part-time - County Auditor - Unassigned Division position at Hamilton County?
Under general supervision, performs internal audits of offices of elected officials, county offices, departments, agencies, and programs that operate under Hamilton County Government with emphasis on internal control and accounting systems for review of effectiveness of the programs, activities, and financial audits.

A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution and one (1) year of direct work experience in the field of accounting. A valid driver’s license is required.OR
An Associate’s Degree in Accounting from an accredited institution and three (3) years of direct work experience in the field of accounting. A valid driver’s license is required.
OR
The equivalent of a high school diploma and five (5) years of direct work experience in the field of accounting. A valid driver’s license is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is preferred.
Any of the national financial/audit certifications are preferred: CPA, CIA, CFE, or CGFM.
ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
Excessive use of Microsoft Word and Excel is required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires long hours of attention reviewing detailed fiscal and legal documents. Work also requires a minimum of physical effort with intermittent sitting, standing, walking and occasional driving. Must be able to lift and carry up to 30 pounds. Excessive keyboarding required.
