THIS IS A DEPARTMENTAL PROMOTIONAL POSTING OPPORTUNITY. ONLY CURRENT EMPLOYEES OF THE HAMILTON COUNTY HIGHWAY DEPARTMMENT WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION.
Under general supervision, supervises and manages staff assigned to various highway department functions. Applies policies and procedures governing functions, goals, and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: (Essential functions, as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act, may include tasks, physical requirements, knowledge, skills, abilities, and other characteristics. This list of tasks is ILLUSTRATIVE ONLY and is not a comprehensive listing of all functions and tasks performed by incumbents of this class.)A Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, public administration, business management, or a closely related field and five (5) years of direct work experience in accounting, project management, public administration, business management or a closely related field, two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory or lead role. A valid driver’s license is required.
OR
An Associate’s Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in accounting, public administration, business management, or a closely related field and seven (7) years of direct work experience in accounting, project management, public administration, business management or a closely related field, two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory or lead role. A valid driver’s license is required.
OR
The equivalent of a high school diploma and nine (9) years of direct work experience in accounting, project management, public administration, business management, or a closely related field, two (2) years of which must be in a supervisory or lead role. A valid driver’s license is required.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Current Notary Public or the ability to become a Notary Public is preferred.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Work requires limited physical effort, primarily involving intermittent sitting, standing, and walking. It also requires computer usage, lifting, carrying, stooping, and bending, retrieving, or mailing records, reports, and correspondence. This position may require the occasional or regular lifting and carrying up to thirty (30) pounds.
