The Role:
As Executive Project Director, you will be the driving force behind the successful execution of heavy-civil projects valued at $400-500 million and beyond. You’ll lead from the front, overseeing all phases from pre-construction to final delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. We're talking about major earthwork, intricate bridges, complex highways, and other large-scale infrastructure that demand exceptional expertise and leadership.
What You’ll Do:
- Direct and manage large-scale heavy-civil projects, utilizing design-build, alternative delivery, and CMGC methodologies.
- Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company standards.
- Build and mentor high-performing project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
- Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
- Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls, ensuring financial performance and profitability.
- Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential challenges and ensuring project success.
- Assist with the pursuit of new projects, contributing to proposals and presentations. We have been informed the organization plans to chase 6-7 large projects per year with the goal of winning 1-2.
What You Bring:
- 20 years of experience leading large-scale heavy-civil projects, with a proven track record in design-build, alternative delivery, and CMGC.
- Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
- Deep understanding of heavy-civil construction principles, practices, and technologies.
- Ability to develop and implement strategic project plans, with a focus on achieving project goals and objectives.
- Strong financial acumen and project cost management skills.
- Experience managing projects across multiple states, with a thorough understanding of regional regulations and requirements.
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Must be willing to reside/travel to Minnesota and throughout the US.
