Are you a seasoned leader driven to build historic infrastructure projects that shape the landscape of America?

A good client of Hamilton Mayer; a rapidly expanding $2 billion revenue powerhouse in the US construction market is seeking a dynamic and strategic Project Director to spearhead the delivery of their largest, most complex heavy-civil projects as they start to ramp up bidding activity over the next few months.

This is not just a job; it’s an opportunity to leave a lasting legacy on the nation’s infrastructure.

The Role:

As Executive Project Director, you will be the driving force behind the successful execution of heavy-civil projects valued at $400-500 million and beyond. You’ll lead from the front, overseeing all phases from pre-construction to final delivery, ensuring projects are completed safely, on time, and within budget. We're talking about major earthwork, intricate bridges, complex highways, and other large-scale infrastructure that demand exceptional expertise and leadership.

What You’ll Do:

  • Direct and manage large-scale heavy-civil projects, utilizing design-build, alternative delivery, and CMGC methodologies.
  • Develop and implement comprehensive project execution plans, ensuring alignment with client objectives and company standards.
  • Build and mentor high-performing project teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with clients, stakeholders, and regulatory agencies.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and cost controls, ensuring financial performance and profitability.
  • Identify and mitigate project risks, proactively addressing potential challenges and ensuring project success.
  • Assist with the pursuit of new projects, contributing to proposals and presentations. We have been informed the organization plans to chase 6-7 large projects per year with the goal of winning 1-2.

What You Bring:

  • 20 years of experience leading large-scale heavy-civil projects, with a proven track record in design-build, alternative delivery, and CMGC.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate teams.
  • Deep understanding of heavy-civil construction principles, practices, and technologies.
  • Ability to develop and implement strategic project plans, with a focus on achieving project goals and objectives.
  • Strong financial acumen and project cost management skills.
  • Experience managing projects across multiple states, with a thorough understanding of regional regulations and requirements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Must be willing to reside/travel to Minnesota and throughout the US.

What Is On Offer:

  • Base salary range of $350,000 - $450,000 , plus a performance-based bonus.
  • Attractive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, retirement, and more.
  • A chance to make a significant impact on a rapidly growing company, but still an established name in the industry.
  • The opportunity to lead some of the most complex and impactful infrastructure projects in the nation.
  • To be a key part of a $2 billion dollar revenue company.
