Job Description
Perform a wide range of duties to facilitate the operation Central Sterile and Surgery Department including assembling and sterilizing instruments/trays, peel packing extra procedural instruments, operation of sterilizing equipment and case cart module preparation. Perform scheduled pick-ups of all Instrument trays and patient care equipment, cleans, inspects, assembles, and sanitizes all soiled instruments. Cleans and decontaminates all case carts and patient equipment, including all stretchers and wheelchairs. This position requires certification as a Central Sterile Tech.
Job Qualifications
Education: High School graduate or equivalent preferred. Or completion of a Central Sterile Program
Licensure: Central Sterile Certification required
Experience: One year experience as a Central Sterile Tech or completion of a Central Sterile Program preferred. Knowledge of surgical instruments preferred. On-the-job training available.
Skills: Good communication skills. Must be able to accept direction from various personnel. Must be able to read/write in English. Must have excellent vision as well as good eye/hand coordination.
