JOB SUMMARY
The Imaging Department Systems Analyst is the Systems Administrator/PACS Administrator for all Medical Imaging-based systems (GE Universal Viewer/Workflow/Zero Footprint Client, Siemens Syngo Dynamics, Nuance applications.) This position will also assist with EMR (Cerner RadNet) management and support. The analyst is responsible for managing and maintaining the working integrity of the departments computer hardware, software, security, network connectivity and master files. The incumbent analyzes user requirements for assigned areas and application systems while also providing application-level support for the information systems utilized by those areas. This includes troubleshooting and providing solutions, making enhancements to applications to support processes and business objectives, directly engages with technical resources and clinical customers, as well as performs application programming and setup from a system administrator perspective. The Analyst is involved in the design, testing, training and maintenance of clinical imaging systems in a fully integrated computerized order entry system for Image Acquisition, Image Delivery, Image integration, Image presentation, Image reporting and Image retention. Maintains the IT network as it relates to the above systems, associated hardware including servers and general support of peripheral devices (PCs, minor PC repair, Monitors, DICOM tagging, HL7 review during interfacing). This position is responsible for providing direct support to end users in the efficient and accurate utilization of the Imaging department and corresponding outside hospital facilities systems applications and the electronic medical record as it relates to imaging. Analysts participate in building, testing and validating new functionality and engaging in custom configuration activities. Analysts perform in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details and other technical issues associated with the use of clinical applications.
The Analyst must have the ability to recognize opportunities for process improvement and optimization activities designed to create end users that are more knowledgeable. The Analyst collaborates with senior management to plan, implement and evaluate the effectiveness of systems and services. Identifies and coordinates system updates, changes and enhancements to support clinical information and meet business needs, while maintaining system and data integrity. Facilitate the installation and implementation of hardware equipment between IT, patient care, and business process teams. The Analyst provides site specific, on call support and first line support to end users with the goal of enhancing and elevating proficiency in the use of the Imaging department system applications and the electronic medical record as it relates to imaging.
Analysts will act as a self-managed professional performing duties to advance the productivity, efficiency, cost reduction, quality improvement, utilization improvement, patient care advancement, regulatory adherence, revenue enhancement efforts of the assigned departments and their application systems in furtherance of advancing the mission of the health care system.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Undergraduate degree in Imaging required. Undergraduate degree in Healthcare Management or Healthcare Informatics is preferred.
Licensure: ARRT (R), NMTCB, or ARDMS required..
Experience: Computer proficiency with an extensive knowledge of personal computers and local area networks is required. Six to eight years of experience working in information management or in an allied health profession. Hamilton Medical Center (HMC) would accept an equivalent combination of education and experience providing the candidate possesses the knowledge and abilities required by the position
Skills: A highly motivated, detail and service oriented individual that can accurately set priorities, work effectively with minimal direction in a job environment involving creative leadership, possessing written and verbal communication skills, problem solving, organizational and technical skills which include PC, Local Area Network (LAN) familiarization; A technical and functional understanding of hospital and related information systems that will allow credibility in the eyes of hospital and Hamilton Health Systems (HHCS) management, end users, Imaging Services personnel, consultants and vendors; Computer skill set that encompasses intrinsic troubleshooting knowledge and operation; Must have a working knowledge of relational databases and client-server concepts. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of complicated tasks. May lead and direct the work of others. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected. A working knowledge of processes performed by the specific areas in health information served, Administrative, operational and technical skills necessary to properly identify, justify and fulfill departmental automation requirements; Ability to work with and utilize to the best advantage the HHCS representatives of various vendors and consultants; A mature individual with a strong sense of organization and the ability to develop long range plans while maintaining control over current projects.
