Hours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM
Days: Monday-Friday

JOB SUMMARY
Works under direct supervision of the PBO Manager and follows written policies and procedures to perform the job duties. Lead will remain an active biller for the department. Completes required daily activity reporting. Maintains positive business relationships internally and externally to ensure effective and efficient coordination of services to promote individual and departmental goals. Ensures the accuracy and timeliness of all claims submission. Provides support to team members. Resolves and advises billing specialist on answers to routine questions and problems and refers more complex issues to higher levels. Assists PBO Manager in routine management tasks such as productivity reporting and budget management. Also, assists in the interview process and hiring decisions and may be called upon to provide input to management on annual performance appraisals. Performs additional duties as assigned in a courteous and professional manner.
The billing lead must be able to lead, train, and supervise staff.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Two years of college level courses, preferably in secretarial science or office administration, associates degree preferred
Licensure: None
Certification: HFMA CRCR or CPB certification preferred.
Experience: 3 or more years experience in professional billing experience required.
Skills: Proficient in typing, transcription and use of word processing software as well as Credentialing Software. Additional computer experience preferred. Use of other office equipment a must. Knowledge of medical terminology necessary. Job requires initiative, organizational ability, excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Must be self-motivated and detail-oriented.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Typical office environment subject to constant interruptions and heavy work volume requirements. Moderate amounts of physical activity, including stooping, loading, lifting. Ability to handle high stress level and work under pressure. Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
