JOB SUMMARY
In addition to performing radiology procedures, the Senior Radiologic Technologist must coordinate the activities of other technologists for smooth, efficient patient through-put, with maximum patient care and safety for patients of all age populations. This would include scheduling, counseling, and interviewing technologist. Must be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patient served. Must demonstrate knowledge of the principles of growth and development and assess data reflective of the patients current status in relation to their age specific needs. Responsible for ordering supplies for the department.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Two year degree or certificate in Radiologic Technology from an accredited Radiologic Technology Program deemed by the American Registry of Radiologic Technology. Associates degree or higher in Radiologic Technology or equivalent field is preferred.
Licensure: ARRT (R) Required to maintain continuing education credits as established by the ARRT, ASRT and facility. CPR Required.
Experience: 3 to 5 years as a technologist. Minimum 3 years as a technologist required, one year supervisory experience is preferred, experience in CT, MRI or US is strongly preferred.
Skills: Personnel supervisory skills, along with all other patient care, scanning, and all other non-supervisory activities is required. Ability to obtain and interpret information in terms of the patients needs that are age appropriate. Ability to select proper instrumentation/supplies appropriate for age group of patient served.
PHYSICAL, MENTAL, ENVIRONMENTAL AND WORKING CONDITIONS
Worker must adjust to performing routine, repetitive tasks under specific supervision. Worker will be performing in a radiation area. Worker is required to be "on feet" most of the day and work is moderate. Extensive amounts of assisting and supervising is required. Worker must be able to adjust routine to accommodate patient or department without affecting departmental flow. Worker will be exposed to blood, body fluids, and potentially hazardous chemicals.
