The RN Infection Preventionist develops and implements infection control programs to prevent and identify the spread of infectious agents in a healthcare environment. The RN Infection Preventionist establishes, implements, and administers infection control goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. The RN Infection Preventionist conducts audits on infection prevention practices and provides education to staff members as well as complies with mandates for state and federal public reporting.
Qualifications of the RN Infection Preventionist:
- Registered Nurse (RN) license in PA
- Certification in Infection Prevention & Control (CIC)
- Previous Acute care, LTC/SNF experience preferred
- One year of experience as a Preventionist and Educator
- Completion of specialized training in infection prevention and control
- Compassionate working with the geriatric population
