Reporting to the Global Commodities Director, the Commodities Manager is responsible to expertly manage and optimize HPS's sourcing, supplier relationships, and supply chain processes on a global scale. The role focuses on ensuring cost-effective procurement, minimizing risks, maintaining supplier performance, and aligning materials management with production trends. Additionally, the role provides guidance and training, resolves supply chain issues, supports business planning, and manages junior team members to enhance operational efficiency and contribute to HPS’s overall success. This position will be located out of North America.

This position will be located out of North America.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Sources and manages strategic/preferred commodities in a cost-effective manner
- Prepares and evaluates quotations based on price, quality and delivery attributes
- Negotiates Global contracts based on a TCO approach
- Participates/leads Supplier risk analysis/risk aversion process
- Analysis of raw material inventory levels against Global production trends
- Monitors key material utilization at Global level in order to minimize inventory and reduce risk of excess and obsolete materials
- Supports the plants in the establishment and execution of material stock programs
- Interfaces/monitors with Suppliers and plants to ensure they are meeting the needs of HPS
- Ensure compliance with negotiated agreements and volumes
- Evaluates Supplier performance metrics at a Global level (quality, delivery, cost)
- Conducts market research in order to maintain competitive advantage
- Represents the department professionally on assigned teams.
- Leads and executes assigned projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Provides guidance and training to HPS personnel involved in materials activities
- Auditing of plant processes to ensure adherence to Global sourcing strategies
- Participates in the development of tools/systems utilized by HPS
- Supports Cost roll preparation, analysis and execution
- Provides inputs into Strategic and Business planning activities
- Input to annual Business Planning tasks
- Managing assigned junior team members
- Post Secondary Diploma or Degree in or related to Materials, Procurement or Supply Chain Management
- CSCMP designation or equivalent
- 8-10 years experience in Materials (procurement) Management Field
- 3-5 years experience in Supervisory and/or Project/Materials Leadership role
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Self-directed
- Problem solving, judgment and decision making skills
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Exhibits good leadership and management skills
- Good communication skills (written and oral)
- Advanced with MS Office & ERP systems
- Available to travel 25-35% of the time
- Global sourcing experience – Preferred
- Multi-lingual preferred; English with Spanish and/or French
