Reporting to the General Manager, this role is responsible for the required mechanical design related to both sustaining engineering and new product development initiatives including mechanical, industrial, and thermal design, certification / compliance, product documentation, and other related design activities. Responsible for collaborating with engineering team and related certification agencies to define and understand product regulation & certification requirements (e.g. UL, CSA, NEMA, etc...). Author supporting product documentation for manufacturing, service, sales, and end customers while also assisting manufacturing and field service in resolving issues in production, with suppliers / vendors, and addressing customer inquiries.
Key Responsibilities include :
- Design and develop mechanical layouts ensuring compliance with product requirements, customer specifications, and safety / industry standards
- Create detailed CAD models, drawings, and specification documents for fabricated parts, assemblies, and overall product documentation
- Lead mechanical design analysis, including thermal, stress, & vibration analysis to ensure product reliability & compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate with the procurement team to source materials, components, and fabricated parts ensuring they meet design and cost requirements
- Work closely with electrical engineers to integrate electrical components into mechanical designs, ensuring proper mounting, wiring space, and accessibility for maintenance
