What are the responsibilities and job description for the Information Systems Program Coordinator position at Hampden County Sheriff's Office?
Are you a tech-savvy problem solver who loves building smart solutions and making systems run smoother than ever? If you're into programming, systems analysis, and working with a team that actually gets the importance of tech, then the Hampden County Sheriff's Office wants to hear from you! We're on the hunt for an Information Systems Program Coordinator—someone who knows how to dig into client-server based applications, build and tweak them as needed, and make sure everything is running like a well-oiled machine. You’ll be the go-to guru for software development and systems support, with a solid mix of hands-on coding and team collaboration.
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM
What You'll Be Doing:
- Designing, developing, testing, and maintaining custom software applications.
- Making sure all our systems play nice with our existing tech standards and architecture.
- Troubleshooting and solving software issues like a champ.
- Acting as the technical expert on systems you’ve helped build—you're the one others look to.
- Supporting our help desk team with the deeper tech stuff when users have questions or concerns.
- Leading software projects from concept to completion. You’re not just writing code—you’re driving progress.
- Building custom reports, forms, and solutions based on real user needs.
- Analyzing systems and data to figure out what needs to be done—and then doing it.
- Documenting what you create so others can understand, use, and build on it later.
- Collaborating with our IS&T team to keep everything working as it should.
- Taking on whatever tech-related tasks are needed by the Director of IT or designee.
What We're Looking For:
We want someone who's ...
- Energetic and motivated—this isn’t a sit-back-and-wait kind of role.
- Fluent in software programming and ready to dive into development.
- A creative thinker with great troubleshooting instincts.
- Comfortable working both solo and as part of a tech-savvy team.
- Confident communicating with everyone—from end users to fellow IT pros.
Benefits:
In addition to a very competitive salary, the position comes with first-rate health care coverage, dental options and paid time off. And if you're forward-thinking, the Commonwealth's pension retirement plan is outstanding.
