Job Purpose
Maximize sales and profitability of golf shop operations through the development and implementation of strategies, analysis, displays and appropriate reaction to sales trends. Provide Members and Guest with friendly, courteous, knowledgeable, and quality Golf shop service.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Assist the Golf Shop Manager with Open-to-Buy plan by season per budget numbers and turnover targets.
- Meet with vendors to view upcoming lines and maintain excellent vendor relations.
- Responsible for monitoring inventory levels and placing fill-in merchandise orders in a timely manner.
- Assist the Golf Shop Manager with merchandising to maintain an attractive shop with visually appealing merchandise displays to maximize sales.
- Facilitate and operate monthly assistance from professional staff & golf shop manager.
- Properly operate CLUB ESSENTIAL point-of-sale system including charging and crediting members, tracking gift certificates and golf shop credits.
- Receive, tag, and display stock and special-order merchandise.
- Develop creative sales and promotional concepts such as trunk shows, holiday promotions, etc.
- Develop relationships and rapport with members by being on the floor and assisting with their needs.
- Greet all members, guests, and visitors.
- Manage the tee sheet to accommodate the maximum number of members.
- Check in members and guests for play.
- Perform additional responsibilities as may be assigned from time to time by the Director of Golf / Golf Shop Manager or Head Golf Professional.
- Previous Women’s retail or Golf Shop experience preferred
- Must possess excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
