Job Summary:
The Security/Night Auditor is a dual-role position responsible for ensuring the safety and security of hotel guests, employees, and property while also assisting with front desk operations and overnight audit duties. This individual will be the primary security presence on property, handling guest concerns, patrolling the premises, and responding to emergencies, while also supporting the night audit process as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
Security Responsibilities:
- Ensure the safety of guests, employees, and hotel property at all times.
- Monitor and patrol interior and exterior hotel areas, including hallways, lobby, stairwells, parking lot, and pool area.
- Respond to disturbances, guest complaints, and security concerns professionally.
- Escort loiterers or unregistered guests off the property.
- Regularly check that all locks on doors and gates are functioning properly.
- Report suspicious activity or safety hazards and complete detailed incident reports.
- Assist other departments when needed.
- Maintain a visible presence and check in with the front desk every 30 minutes.
Night Audit Responsibilities:
- Assist with guest check-ins and check-outs, handling reservations as needed.
- Balance the daily financial transactions and correct any discrepancies.
- Prepare end-of-day reports and complete audit procedures.
- Maintain cleanliness of the lobby and common areas.
- Provide excellent customer service to all guests, addressing any inquiries or requests.
- Know the locations of emergency shut-offs (gas, water, electrical), master keys, and first aid supplies.
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Previous hotel front desk or security experience preferred.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask.
- Ability to remain calm in high-pressure situations and de-escalate conflicts.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Must be able to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs.
- Must be available for overnight shifts, weekends, and holidays.
