What are the responsibilities and job description for the Laundry Attendant position at Hampton Inn & Suites Grand Rapids-Airport 28th St?
The Laundry Attendant is responsible for providing a constant supply of clean linens for the entire hotel. The position also works to ensure proper inventory levels are supplied to the floors in a timely and efficient manner.
Essential Job Functions:
- Always recognize and warmly greet hotel guests whenever encountered within the hotel.
- Sort all linens and treat stains
- Wash, Dry, Fold, and Stock all linen
- Organize/Sort linen based on type, and put up neatly in the linen storage rooms.
- Identify and Log all worn and torn linen that will be turned into rags.
* Assist with monthly linen inventory; when asked.
- Be knowledgeable of all equipment, and how it’s used.
- Maintain inventory of all cleaning supplies, and communicate with Supervisor or Manager.
- Deliver and retrieve items on loan to guests; such as rollaway and/or microwaves
- Assist in any deep cleaning projects as requested by the Housekeeping Supervisor or Manager.
- Report and damage or maintenance needed on all laundry equipment to Supervisor or Manager.
- Maintain a clean and tidy work area.
- Ensure that the hallways, stairways, and corridors are kept free of any obstructions.
- Ability to read and understand the proper use, storage, and disposal of all chemicals used.

Required Experience/Requirements:
- Previous guest service and/or housekeeping experience preferred
- Ability to work with little or no supervision while meeting high-performance standards

- Must be able to work days, some nights, weekends, and holidays.
