What are the responsibilities and job description for the Maintenance Assistant position at Hampton Inn?
A Maintenance Assistant is responsible for assisting the Chief Maintenance Engineer in the overall maintenance of the hotel’s building and grounds and the operation of its equipment and mechanical/electrical systems. Additionally, this position is responsible for the overall safety and security of the hotel and its associates.
Responsibilities
- Completing maintenance problems, complaints, and work orders to prioritize and schedule work assignments (e.g. painting, drywall, door adjustments, minor plumbing and electrical work, HVAC maintenance, etc.)
- Assisting in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing malfunctioning property systems and equipment, including electrical/mechanical
- Assisting in inspecting property to identify potential and current needs and acting on those needs
- Performing preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis
- Assisting in servicing the hotel’s pool, including adjusting chemicals, vacuuming, and cleaning filters
- Maintaining and upkeep of the outside of the property (e.g. trash removal, maintenance of cigarette butt removal, cleaning of parking lot, leaf blowing, maintenance of flower pots and boxes, etc.)
- Maintaining the building exterior if not serviced by a contractor (e.g. snow removal, lawn care, painting, lights, etc.
