Overview
This position's primary function is to repair and maintain electric, propane, diesel, and gasoline industrial equipment. The Mechanic will be expected to supply their own tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, screwdrivers, etc.).

Responsibilities
- Work in a safe manner by complying with all company safety policies to include utilizing all required PPE.
- Follow all operating rules and environmental practices in order to remain environmentally compliant.
- Hand/eye coordination.
- Strong communication skills through writing, speech, and hearing.
- Capable of working on or around ladders, stairs, and uneven surfaces.
- Refuel mobile equipment.
- Perform oil changes and scheduled services on mobile equipment.
- Grease mobile equipment.
- Steam clean mobile equipment on regular basis.
- Ability to learn to operate all log yard equipment.
- Ability to learn to change tires.
- Ability to learn to diagnose engine, hydraulic and electrical problems and breakdowns.
- Ability to learn to repair diesel, propane, gasoline, and electrical motors.
- Ability to learn to read schematics and parts diagrams.
- Ability to learn to repair brake systems.
- Must be willing to attend any training necessary to upgrade performance.
- Must be willing to train any employee as assigned by supervisor.
- Will operate all equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
- Will keep working areas clear of waste and spare time will be used productively.
- Will immediately advise lead or supervisor of any problems that arise during shift.
- Work overtime as needed.
- Will perform all tasks that are required by the Supervisor.
Qualifications
- Supply basic hand tools.
- Basic understanding of engine, electrical, drive train and hydraulic operations.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Must be PIT certified or attain certification.
- Fall Protection Certified or attain certification.
- Manual dexterity capability.
