What it's like to be a Therapist I (LPC, LCSW) aT Crisis Stabilization
As a Full-Time Licensed Eligible Therapist at Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will manage a diverse caseload of managed care clients facing mental illness and co-occurring substance-related disorders in an outpatient setting. This role involves conducting initial assessments, applying complex theoretical approaches to individual, group, and family therapy, and making informed treatment recommendations. You will provide care within our Regional Crisis Stabilization Unit (RCSU), an 11-bed facility designed for 24-hour residential crisis stabilization, addressing immediate psychiatric crises with a multidisciplinary approach. Your responsibilities include planning therapeutic programs for clients, monitoring their progress, and offering a variety of support services, including educational sessions and peer recovery services. Additionally, you will supervise and mentor other staff, ensuring a comprehensive approach to client care while maintaining up-to-date records and preparing diagnostic reports.
