Make a difference as a Staff Training Specialist
As a Staff Training Specialist at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, you will play a key role in developing, coordinating, and delivering impactful training programs. Your responsibilities will include facilitating sessions on essential health and safety topics, new employee orientation, and information systems training for both clinical and non-clinical staff. Working closely with your supervisor, you will assess training needs, document course attendance, and provide outstanding support to employees. Your expertise in utilizing a Learning Management System will ensure accurate updates, timely preparation of training status reports, and the organization of training materials. This position is essential in providing foundational training that empowers staff to maintain a safe environment for clients while upholding the highest standards set by licensing and accrediting bodies.
What you need to be successful
To succeed as a Full-Time Staff Training Specialist at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board, candidates should have a Bachelor's Degree in a related field and at least one year of instructional training experience in a corporate, healthcare, or government setting. Experience in developing and facilitating training programs for diverse audiences, as well as proficiency with Learning Management Systems, is essential. The ideal candidate will also be a Certified Instructor or able to become certified within six months of employment for American Red Cross BLS and Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED, as well as Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®.
Knowledge and skills required for the position are:
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field and one year of instructional training experience in a corporate/healthcare/government learning environment.
- Experience with Learning Management Systems.
- Certified Instructor, or able to become certified within 6 months of employment, for American Red Cross BLS and Adult & Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention®.
- Valid state driver's license.
