Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director for Fan Engagement, Sports Marketing and Promotions, the Director of Sports Marketing and Fan Engagement will support the execution of marketing strategies for Hampton Pirates Athletics. This position works independently to carry out responsibilities for the development, coordination, and implementation of game day experience, digital marketing, and community outreach initiatives. This position will lead strategy for driving student attendance / engagement as well as membership to the Hampton Pirates Kids Club.
Job Duties
- Work with Assistant Athletics Director for Marketing to develop strategy to reach attendance and other fan development goals.
- Communicate regularly with members for all other external units and coaching staffs to maximize collaboration.
- Lead marketing, game day experience and ticket sales initiatives for Men’s Basketball.
- Assist in the recruiting, training and scheduling of graduate assistants and undergraduate marketing staff.
- Assist with digital and social media marketing campaigns (website, email, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram).
- Serve as the primary contact for community outreach requests (mascot appearances, donation requests, etc.).
- Embodies the Hampton University core values : integrity, respect, decency, dignity, and responsibility.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
