Job Summary:
The Department of Biological Sciences at Hampton University is seeking a detail-oriented and reliable Part-Time Lab Technician to support laboratory operations. The technician will be responsible for cleaning glassware, preparing lab materials & reagents, and assisting with lab setup and breakdown. This position is ideal for individuals interested in gaining hands-on experience in a laboratory environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Clean and sterilize glassware, lab equipment, and workspaces.
- Assist in setting up and breaking down laboratory experiments.
- Prepare solutions, reagents, and other materials as needed for labs.
- Maintain organization and cleanliness of lab spaces.
- Follow proper safety and waste disposal procedures.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college coursework in science preferred.
- Previous laboratory experience is a plus but not required.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Commitment to maintaining a clean and safe lab environment.
Work Schedule:
- Part-time position with flexible hours (30 hours per week).
- Schedule will be determined based on department needs and candidate availability.
