Position Overview
- Location: Aiea, Hawai‘i
- Child: Newborn (2 months old in May)
- Start date: first week of May
- 2-3 days a week, ideal schedule would be M, Tu, Th 7am/8am- 2/3pm
Responsibilities
This position centers around loving, attentive infant care and light child-related tasks:
- Bottle preparation and feeding
- Diaper changes and basic hygiene
- Tracking feedings, naps, and sleep with the Huckleberry app
- Washing bottles and baby laundry
- Age-appropriate developmental activities, including tummy time and early enrichment
- Meal prepping for baby once solids are introduced
Ideal Candidate
- A strong background in newborn care
- Warmth, punctuality, and clear communication
- Comfort with tracking feeding and sleep logs
- A proactive approach to developmental activities
- A collaborative spirit, with confidence in offering suggestions and guidance
While not required, Japanese language skills would be a welcome bonus. Due to a cat allergy, candidates must not have regular contact with cats or willing to change into cat free clothing upon arrival.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years professional childcare experience
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Clean background and driving record checks
- Currently lives on O‘ahu
- Legally authorized to work in the U.S.
Preferred:
- Experience with newborns in early infancy
- Japanese language skills
