Hancock Estabrook, LLP, one of Upstate New York’s leading law firms, located in downtown Syracuse, is seeking a full-time Collections Specialist. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections and the ability to handle sensitive financial information with confidentiality and professionalism.

Responsibilities
· Proactively monitor and manage overdue accounts to ensure timely payment.
· Contact clients via phone, email, and mail to collect outstanding balances.
· Build and maintain positive client relationships.
· Maintain accurate records of collections activities and client interactions.
· Work with the Firm’s billing attorneys as needed to resolve billing disputes and payment issues.
· Process incoming payments including checks and credit card transactions, accurately and efficiently.
· Adhere to Firm policies and legal guidelines regarding debt collection.
Qualifications
· At least 3 years’ experience in credit and collections.
· Bachelor’s or Associate degree in accounting or related field preferred but not required.
· Professional services environment experience preferred but not required.
· Experience with Elite 3E or similar law practice software preferred but not required.
· Team-oriented attitude with a strong work ethic.
· Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing with a diverse range of individuals.
- Sound judgment and a sense of accountability for working independently and proactively.

The salary range for this position is $48,000-$65,000 annually and represents the firm’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will depend upon a number of factors, including the candidate’s years of experience, qualifications and skill set.
