We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Residential Program Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide direct support and care for individuals in a group home setting, administer medications and help promote self-administration. The Residential Program Worker provides skills teaching, motivation, and assistance in daily living, helping residents reach their maximum potential and grow their skills and confidence.
This is a Weekend block shift, where the Residential Program Worker comes to work every Friday at 7am and works until 3pm on Sundays. The worker stays right at the home in a private bedroom. This job offers a unique opportunity to work for 2.5 days each week to complete your 40 hours , and have the rest of the week off!!
This position involves working in a 3-bed group home in Meadville (Crawford County), serving adults with mental health conditions.
Duties:
- Assist residents with day to day living skills
- Listens to and shows compassion to support residents' emotional well-being
- Assists in problem-solving and finding creative solutions
- Is a cheerleader, encourager, and motivator
- Celebrates victories with Resident's and helps try new things and build confidence
- Prepare and serve meals according to dietary requirements
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents
- Administer medications and help residents learn Medication Self-Administratio
-Assist in setting up medical appointments and assist the Resident's at the appointments
-Assist Residents in social activities in the home and community
- Support residents with daily goals and activities to grow their independence
Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- At least one year in any human services field required.
- Valid PA Driver's License is required. There is a vehicle on-site to transport residents.
- Previous experience in a residential setting such as a group home, personal care home, or similar setting is preferred
- Experience or background in working with people who have mental health diagnoses such as depression, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia are preferred.
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with residents, families, and colleagues
