POSITION: Patient Services Team – Float Position
ANSWERS TO: Patient Services Team Leader
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY: None
START DATE: As soon as qualified candidate is chosen
EMPLOYMENT TYPE: Full-Time, 40 hours
WORK HOURS: Monday through Friday 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE: Medical Office experience preferred but will look at candidates with excellent customer service and have other office general office experience or training.
POSITION DESCRIPTION: Looking to add a full-time PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE who will be cross-trained to handle Phone Room, Patient Registration, and Front Desk, filling in wherever needed.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE (BUT NOT LIMITED TO):
Phone Room:
- Provide excellent customer service to patients and coworkers.
- Operates multi-line telephone to connect interoffice and house calls.
- Register patients and schedule appointments.
- Retrieve insurance information.
- Other duties as assigned.
Front Desk:
- Opening up clinic tasks for first patient arrival.
- Greeting patients as they walk in.
- Check-in duties (collect copays, scan insurance cards, print encounter forms, update registration as needed).
- Schedule appointments.
- Maintain tidy reception/waiting areas.
- Other duties as assigned to maintain a cohesive, friendly, welcoming environment for our patients and guests.
Patient Registration:
- Meet and assist patients with completing registration forms.
- Call patients as needed to obtain needed information for appointments.
- Verify patient record is up to date and accurate; make appropriate updates as needed.
SKILLS NEEDED:
- Good customer service skills required.
- Must be comfortable working on computer; is on computer all day.
- Medical office experience is helpful, but not necessary.
- Be able to easily multi-task.
- Display innovative thinking and problem-solving skills.
REQUIRED EDUCATION:
High school or Equivalent
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE:
1 to 20 years
