**Key Responsibilities**
1. **Instrument Assessment**
- Test new arrivals (violins/violas/cellos/basses) for tone quality, projection, and playability
- Document acoustic characteristics using standardized evaluation protocols
2. **Client Consultation**
- Demonstrate instrument comparisons for customers
- Advise on instrument selection based on skill level and musical goals
3. **Maintenance Monitoring**
- Perform routine acoustic checks on inventory
- Identify environmental impacts on instrument condition
4. **Technical Collaboration**
- Provide feedback to luthiers for sound optimization
- Create basic maintenance guides for customers

**Requirements**
- Professional proficiency on violin plus at least one other string instrument
- Ability to articulate tonal differences using concrete descriptors (e.g., "bright attack with quick decay")
- Minimum 5 years performance experience across classical/contemporary styles
- Working knowledge of instrument setup and adjustment
- Absolute pitch or proven pitch recognition ability
