The Operating Room Equipment Specialist will be responsible for sterilizing medical instruments and equipment, ensuring the highest standards of patient care. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:
- Operate washers, sterilizers, ultrasonic machines, steam and ethylene oxide sterilizers, heat sealers, and additional equipment during sterilization procedures.
- Adhere to instrument count sheets for surgical sets and case carts.
- Retrieve used trays, instruments, and equipment from various surgical and clinical hospital areas for decontamination.
- Examine instruments and patient care equipment for cleanliness, proper assembly, and functionality.
- Identify malfunctioning items, record related information, and promptly notify supervisor or biomedical engineer.
- Assist in ordering, stocking, and maintaining department inventory levels.
- Perform required duties to maintain a contaminant-free work environment.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent, required
- 1.5 years experience accepted if tertiary experience; 2 years experience if not
- Preferred: 2 years experience
- Ability to communicate effectively in English (verbally and in writing) and follow oral and/or written instructions, required
- Scrubs provided- must be laundered at the facility
- Must be able to rotate through all areas to include decontamination, stand for long periods of time, and lift/carry 25 pounds.
