H2C is seeking an experienced Industrial Hygiene Manager to provide IH leadership and support to a 200E operations organization and report to the H2C Industrial Hygiene Department Manager. The successful candidate will manage field Industrial Hygiene staff, Supervisors, and Technicians for the assigned operational division and emphasize a philosophy of continuous improvement in worker health and safety. This key manager role will align departmental support to the multi-year operational plan and their customer organization's mission objectives to enhance worker safety, create efficiency, and reduce cost.
The IH Manager provides clear and concise day-to-day direction to staff, provides effective communications to peer management and senior H2C leadership, provides clear expectations of the schedule and deliverables, and removes obstacles to allow the deliverables to be achieved. Provides staff with effective opportunity for improvement, including constructive criticism, professional development, training, ongoing review of work products/deliverables using performance metrics, adjustments to the schedule priorities, redirection of priorities, and opportunities to present and deliver information to workers and management.
IH Manager responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
- Provide strategic leadership and support on of Special Emphasis Area (SEA) reporting and DOE interfaces.
- Ensure data quality and timeliness in all processes and products
- Implement continuous improvement initiatives for the organization and department
- Engage with peer management for integration of consistent requirements application amongst staff
- Assign direct reports to participate in company assessments, corrective actions and other area of emphasis
- Lead special assignments, as directed by the IH Department Manager as well as Operations Management
- Complete ICAS assignments as directed
- Participate in Employee Safety Councils,
- Communicate regularly with HAMTC Safety Personnel on various topics
- Work with Commissioning group on Project Turnover assignments
Required Qualifications
Grade 20:
BA/BS Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related discipline plus a minimum of 10 years' experience in Industrial Hygiene/Safety or, an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience.
Grade 21:
BA/BS Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Safety or related discipline plus a minimum of 12 years' experience in Industrial Hygiene/Safety or, an equivalent combination of education and directly related work experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Desired Qualifications
Prior Hanford experience as a contactor and/or DOE working with Health and Safety implementation at an industrial site.
Continuous education and training to maintain knowledge.
Experience with conflict resolution
Strong Organization skills
Prior experienced with supervising bargaining unit personnel
Earned Value Management System (EVMS) experience and/or prior CAM experience is a plus
Ability to interact with various stake holders, including senior management.
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the company's philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, H2C takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial grade and salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidate's qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made at the appropriate grade level and within the targeted hiring range posted according to these factors. Note a candidate's prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $129,063
Hiring Range Maximum: $179,113
