Westlake Flooring Company provides automotive dealers with revolving lines of credit to purchase inventory to sell to consumers.

Job Summary:

Divisional Sales Trainers are responsible for effectively developing and implementing training initiatives to drive productivity revenue and achieve sales goals. They are responsible for creating memorable engagement and for conducting trainings in the field with our team of Area Managers. This role requires 80% travel into markets across the US, riding with the field team, visiting dealers, auctions, and meeting up with Regional Managers. The Sales Trainer will play a critical role in ensuring the successful onboarding and development of new hires within our automotive floorplan division. This position requires strong communication skills, a deep understanding of automotive financing, and the ability to engage and mentor new employees in a fast-paced environment. The Trainer may support other Sales Training efforts including developing training material and/or supporting various other events within the organization. They will work the Regional Sales Managers to ensure they are delivering a cohesive message in the field.

 

Key Responsibilities:

1. Training Development and Implementation:

  • Field visits – one of the most important job of the field trainer is to meet in the field with the new hires within the first couple months of being hired to recap the things they learned in the classroom training, provide a thorough training of systems, processes, and policies as well as go out into the field visiting dealers
  • Design, develop, and deliver comprehensive training programs for new hires in the field
  • Adapt training materials to meet the varying needs of different learners, ensuring clarity and engagement.

2. Onboarding Assistance of New Employees:**

  • Assist in the onboarding process for new hires, providing essential information on company policies, procedures, and product offerings.
  • Guide new employees through hands-on training and real-world scenarios to ensure a thorough understanding of their roles and responsibilities.

3. Mentorship:

  • Act as a mentor and point of contact for new hires, offering guidance and support as they transition into their positions.
  • Encourage continuous improvement and professionalism among team members, addressing any challenges new hires may encounter.

4. Assessment and Feedback:

  • Evaluate the progress of trainees through assessments, observations, and feedback sessions, ensuring they meet competency benchmarks.
  • Provide constructive feedback and develop improvement plans when necessary to help new hires succeed.

5. Collaboration:

  • Work closely with management and other trainers to ensure training programs align with company goals and objectives.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate cross-functional knowledge into training sessions.

6. Continuous Improvement:

  • Regularly assess training programs and materials for relevance and effectiveness; update content as needed based on industry trends and employee feedback.
  • Stay current with industry best practices, emerging technologies, and changes in automotive financing frameworks.

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in a training or mentoring role within the automotive or finance industry.
  • Strong understanding of automotive floorplan financing and related processes.
  • Excellent presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and training/learning management systems.
