About the Construction Safety Sr Specialist position

We are looking for a Construction Safety Senior Specialist to coordinate, support, and actively participate in all matters related to Construction Safety for the Tennessee plant complex. This position is responsible for maintaining a safe and efficient construction site, prevent accidents and ensure that workers and the job site are in compliance with all relevant internal and external health and safety regulations.

You should be well-versed in all construction methodologies and procedures and able to coordinate a team of professionals of different disciplines to achieve the best results. An analytical mind and great organizational skills are also required.

Construction Safety Sr Specialist responsibilities are:

• Develop and implement safety protocols, procedures, and policies to enable safe work execution
• Conduct routine safety inspections for workers and general conditions on the job site
• Provide initial and periodic training on safe work expectations, PPE expectations, emergency response, etc.
• Oversee the implementation of the site’s near miss/potential hazard/incident reporting system
• Investigate injuries, accidents, and unsafe working conditions
• Conduct risk assessments to gather information on safety related matters
• Provide leadership and direction during Emergency Response situations
• Communicate with Project Management, Site Management, and Vendors to establish safe work expectations
• Write and submit periodic safety reports summarizing site activities and events
• Manage all documentation and record keeping associated with job site health and safety
• Participate in weekly project meetings onsite or online with global team
• Partner with site EHS team to ensure incident reporting and documentation in line with site standards
• Oversee the utilization of the site’s contractor pre-requisite system to ensure all contractors onsite have necessary training and documentation prior to arriving onsite
• Utilize machine commissioning checklist to oversee the safe installation and commissioning of machinery
• Ensure safe operability of machines being installed during the construction phase
• Perform other duties as required

Construction Safety Sr Specialist requirements are:

Education:

• (Required) Bachelor’s degree
• (Preferred) Occupational Safety and Health or Construction Management

Experience:

• (Required) 5 years of relevant experience, previous experience in Safety Management in Construction

Physical Demands:

• Must be able to frequently move about the manufacturing plant campus, general office environments, production areas, and occasionally ascend/descend stairs
• Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
• Must be able to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery
• Must be able to position self to file documents including the top and bottom drawers of file cabinets
• Must be able to occasionally move office equipment and supplies weighing up to 25 pounds
