Hanlon’s Tire Service is an independent, family-owned automotive shop specializing in the sale and installation of new and used tires as well as wheel alignments. We also perform a variety of automotive maintenance and repair services. We are looking to fill the position of Store Manager who plays an integral role in the day-to-day business operations of the company. The Manager is responsible for the overall customer experience as well as the quality of service provided by the Hanlon’s Team. We are seeking an energetic individual with the ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will preferably have experience in the automotive industry in a management, counter sales, or estimator position. Duties & Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain relationship with retail customers and commercial accounts.
- Monitor sales trends and evaluate various financial reports to ensure strength of overall sales
- Identify and react to opportunities for sales and profitability growth.
- Manage inventory, including the oversight of proper inventory levels, coordinating with suppliers as necessary for delivery and returns.
- Effectively communicate with owners, management, associates, customers, and vendors across all lines of business.
- Strategically develop and manage vendor relationships to maximize their value and minimize company costs.
- Ensure facility is maintained to highest standards of appearance, organization and cleanliness including work areas, office space and customer lounge area.
- React to customer service issues, customer complaints, and/or business opportunities as appropriate.
- Maintain working order of all shop tools and equipment by coordinating repairs and routine maintenance.
- Direct, instruct, and manage employees, including assigning, supervising, and appraising work; motivating and disciplining associates; addressing employee concerns and resolving problems.
- Strategically staff store to ensure operating efficiency and top customer service levels. Interview, hire, train, and promote external and internal candidates as needed.
- Ensure employee compliance with company policies/procedures, loss prevention, safety and environmental codes and laws.
- Follow all policies and procedures related to POS transactions (cash, credit, check, refund and return policies) and inventory management working in the TABS/Auto Fluent shop management system.
- Key holder responsible for basic and detailed opening and closing responsibilities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid Driver's License.
- Completion of a two-year college, technical program, or 3 years of commercial and/or retail industry experience.
- Experience in Automotive Industry.
- Minimum of one (1) year supervisory experience.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Comfortable utilizing up-sell techniques.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Demonstrated consistency, accuracy and follow-through.
- Ability to work retail hours including some Saturdays.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
Physical Demands/Work Environment
- Must be able to lift, carry, and place merchandise and supplies up to 25 pounds without assistance. Will be occasionally required to lift, carry, and place merchandise and equipment up to 50 pounds, with or without assistance.
- Frequent standing and walking for long periods of time.
- Frequent reaching overhead and below the knees, including squatting, bending, stooping, kneeling, twisting.
- Communicate effectively in person, by telephone, or by using telecommunications equipment.
- Visually verify information, often in small print.
- Safely operate a motor vehicle.
