Hanna Z is seeking a passionate and dedicated Entry Level Chef to join our culinary team. As an entry-level chef, you will support the kitchen staff in the preparation and cooking of high-quality meals, while learning the ins and outs of running a professional kitchen. The ideal candidate is enthusiastic about food, eager to learn, and committed to providing an exceptional dining experience.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and cook in accordance with recipes and restaurant standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen, including ensuring proper food storage and handling practices.
- Follow all health and safety regulations to ensure the kitchen operates in a safe and sanitary manner.
- Work under the direction of the Program Director to assist in the creation of daily specials, menu items, and meal presentations.
- Ensure all ingredients are properly stocked and assist in inventory management.
- Operate kitchen equipment, such as ovens, stoves, grills, and fryers, with attention to safety and efficiency.
- Assist with plating dishes and ensuring they meet presentation standards.
- Perform basic administrative tasks such as labeling, organizing ingredients, and following cleaning schedules.
- Participate in team meetings and receive feedback to improve skills and techniques.
- Maintain a positive attitude and work collaboratively with all kitchen staff.
Requirements:
- Previous experience in a kitchen environment is a plus, but not required (training will be provided).
- A passion for cooking and a desire to learn and grow in the culinary field.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks at once.
- Knowledge of basic cooking techniques and food safety standards (training can be provided).
- Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy items when necessary.
- A positive, proactive attitude with a strong willingness to learn.
