POSITION SUMMARY:
The Production Supervisor provides leadership and effectively manages production processes and team members under their area of supervision. while complying with company policy.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Ensure that customer parts/products are correctly processed, labeled, loaded and shipped in a timely manner per customer schedule.
- Follow, explain and clarify company policies and procedures to production team members.
- Lead and ensure team members follow company safety requirements and PPE.
- Ensure team members are trained on their job duties.
- Perform supervisory responsibilities such as hire, discipline, review performance and set expectations for direct reports.
- Process time sheets weekly for direct reports to include PTO approvals etc.
- Manage issues that arise in the daily operation, offers resolution, and reports to department management if needed for further review.
- Produce daily end of shift reports to include down time, machine issues, etc.
- Manage personally to ensure proper production is met.
- Hold communication meetings with team members to inform of production goals and changes as required.
- Support and participate in EHS objectives.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION AND EXPERINCE:
- 2-4 years of supervisory/ management experience required.
- Experience working in manufacturing environment preferred.
- Computer skills such Word, basic Excel.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY:
Supervises production team members, team leaders.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
• Plant work environment with fluctuations in temperature (hotter in the summer, cooler in the winter).
• Exposure to certain noise levels and bright lights.
• Required to wear company-issued personal protective equipment such as steel toe shoes, glasses, gloves, etc.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
• Lifting up to 50 lbs. with or without assistance.
• Standing /Walking for extended periods.
• Sitting for extended periods.
• Ability to stay focused for extended periods of time.
• Ability to multitask.
• Ability to analyze information, identify problems.
