JOB SUMMARY:
Hanover Bank is looking for a full-time Senior Accountant. The Senior Accountant, under the supervision of the Assistant Controller, is responsible for a variety of functions related to the operation and administration of the Finance Department.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Maintain the integrity of the Bank’s general ledger system.
- Preparation of general ledger account reconciliations on a daily and/or monthly basis and preparation of adjusting entries as needed. Daily recs will include FRB and A/P check rec, and monthly will include various Balance Sheet recs.
- Oversee the Accounts Payable function, which includes reviewing all invoices that are entered into the A/P system and also making sure they are approved in a timely manner. Furthermore, the review of all new vendors and regular vendor maintenance is required.
- Maintain the Accounts Payable E-mail inbox, making sure that all E-mails are read on a daily basis and no invoices are missed.
- Responsible for the preparation of Prepaids and Accruals monthly. This includes inputting all new Prepaid assets and Accruals, and the processing of the month-end amortization.
- Input of General Ledger entries with proper back-up work as needed.
- Resolve the daily non-post items when they occur.
- Responsible for the bi-weekly Payroll funding and reconciliations.
- Backup for daily balancing & the daily financial package sent to Executives.
- Reconcile deposit balances on an as needed basis.
- Reconcile loan balances on an as needed basis
- Assist with account research as needed and perform analysis of financial statement accounts.
- Assist with internal and external audits as needed.
- Ensure compliance with all Bank policies and procedures and applicable industry regulations.
- Provide general support to all areas of the Finance Department and perform additional duties as assigned.
- Assist the Assistant Controller in the year-end 1099 process.
PROFESSIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Understanding of GAAP.
- Minimum of three years of work experience.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting preferred but not required.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Salary: $80,000.00-$90,000.00; placement within this range will vary based on experience and skill level.
